i am here...........

I just don't have the zeal to blog as much anymore or perhaps its a quiet period in my life where i am reclined to keep myself to myself and shut out the world? I just don't know but i am here to day to share some thoughts .

With the summer upon us here in the UK, school terms ending for the academic year almost! Ramadan soon upon us plans have been changed. While i feel the excitement of this holy month , i must admit i am a little worried too as i have never fasted during the summer , long hot days.........its the heat that worries me but i know my Lord will be merciful and will not burden me with more than i can withstand!

I have no plans for hols during the summer although Morocco was an option as was Algeria and Turkey but i have opted to stay here and hopefully get a much needed new fridge freezer inshaAllah! Others may still travel but i am staying put and anyhow there is more of the UK i want to explore but i don't think i will be getting beyond London this summer.

Yesterday i went out with my dd year 2 key stage 1 , on a school outing to a local nature reserve as she has been doing a mini beast study for a whole term , its was great i learnt that a spider has a thorax and a butterfly too. We visited this Nature Reserve, one that i often visited as a child myself with the school. East Ham Nature Reserve is a tranquil oasis nestling alongside the busy A13, offering the opportunity to enjoy nature at first hand. It offers both an exciting and educational day of fun for the whole family. Set in a ten-acre churchyard more than 800 years old, it is one of the largest in Britain. Since 1977 the Churchyard has been managed as a nature reserve. The reserve boasts a rich variety of wildlife and plant life. From butterflies to slowworms, lime trees to wildflower meadows, hedgehogs to wasps and many more all waiting to be discovered! The churchyard is one of the largest in Britain and is still used. The ancient Norman parish church of St Mary Magdalene can be viewed by appointment. There are three numbered nature trails to be explored, these are teeming with local wildlife including foxes, owls and kestrels.

It was interesting with lot of old graves and 2 people who died on the Titanc buried there. As i went into the bushes with my group they became frightened and wanted to head back lool. I told them not to be afraid , they was equipped with a magnifying glass and we had a great time looking under bushes, leaves and around the tree trunks. After we went to a nearby park and we all ate out packed lunches there ...............the weather was so nice mashaAllah , rather hot infarct! Here are some picture i took;

Just another day.................

of getting up alhamduillah , starting a new week, what awaits? New beginnings and old endings? Getting out and about doing my daily chores, sitting at home worrying when i know its being happy is what i would rather be doing alhamduilah.

I would love to have a Lavender bush in my garden that i can smell and feel my senses coming alive with the Sher beauty of the fragrance.

Looking back on the days that pass and anticipation the days that are yet to come, is the Rhythm of my life.
I just want to thank you Allah,
For everything you’ve given me,
I don’t want to be ungrateful,
or sinful.

Summer colours in cotton

It is my first time using this type of yarn well cotton really, i must say its a luxuary to hook with and at that price i am not suprised , this is a batch i brought on ebay fairly cheeply compared to what they charge out there really.....so one chain lead to another and this is whats happening........

Photobucket
i love the neatness and stiffness of this cotton and always almost getting the right gauge alhamduilah its great!

Photobucket

I want to block them so far they have been so many things coasters, table saver, blanket, throw , pillow options are many but not decided can you help?
Photobucket

I wanted to see how a white edging would look , its very nice but i need to purchase some white cotton as the wool well lessens the look and feel.

I had a go at hexagons but i don't like them they went all culry and i will try again using another pattern.

Meeting up with cyber ladies

I had the pleasure of meeting up with some fellow bloggers and cyber ladies. I often get asked , ''don't you feel scared?'' i want to reasure you i don't just go off and have a coffee with everyone i share comments with. Most i have had good contact with on a forum i am part of, perhaps chatting for upto 1 year or more, also if they have linked up with someone else from the forum then the lady will say kinda offer a reference, so with in the group of many ladies someone has meeet someone or know someone!

This weekend i went out of town a little to link up with Sonya and Sarah who i have been wanting to meet for some time now. Sonya had opened up her home and made lunch for us. Some other ladies came along and i had meet them before but its always nice to meet new ladies esp those new to Islam. I must say i had a lovely afternoon but had to leave early.

Something to be happy about

Alhamduilah (All praise is due to God), I have not been fortunate where family ties and relations have been. Disowned by part and all of my extended family 16yrs ago upon embracing Islam, this has been a very difficult time in my life but i bore it with patience best i could, to my ability. It does not mean the pain was any less, growing older myself and seeing a need for family ties and a need to belong the wounds were re-opened again. The most difficult of these relationships was the one with my brother , my only brother, 20yrs of no words exchanged, no build of a strong bond of love...........it really was a miserable state, he would often past me on the Street and blank me. about 1 month ago he turned up on my door step with his 2 daughters, i was in total shock but composed myself enough to invite him in and offer my hospitality. At first he was reluctant to sit down or even stop as he came on an errand for my mother (to drop some paper work. After a bit of chit chat he said ''OK i will have that cuppa''. He has been over a few times since just for a short visit but all the same a visit!

On Saturday when i returned home from a busy day out i found this bunch of flowers waiting for me with a lovely card.
Photobucket

from my enstranged sister, a peace offering so the card read, what a blessing. It got me thinking this is the first time in 20yrs my whole family are talking to me all at once mashaAllah! I never stopped praying for a reunion but Allah knew best when it was for me.

It's really strange as the card is totally fab as these very birds are the ones that used to frequent my kitchen window in Algeria and gave me such pleasure just a few days earlier i was relaying this to a group of ladies and saying how i miss them so.
My earlier , i mean when i started blogging here is about the birds and the joy they gave me when i was living in Algeria.

feeling like this

I have been trying to re build some sort of life for myself since returning to the UK , i can tell you it has been no picnic but i have tried all the same. I think i know what direction i want but i can't seem to feel the contentment i should when i move in that direction. There are the daily trails that take it's toll on me. staying a float is the hardest when all odds are against...i think its sabr (patience ) iam lacking here.

I have picked up a book i have had for many years now and read and re read at least 3-4 times already i feel inspired to move forward and gain more for nurishment for my soul and beyond inshaallah.

The book is called ; In The Early hours by Kuram Murad i think?
