there are so many types of pulses and lentil's Indian cooking uses. When arrived in Algeria and found one i felt robbed but then they started to sell the red split lentil too alhamduilah.
ahhhhh, ok. I still remember when I bought home a bag of red lentils from the shops - my mother-in-law had never seen them before, and thought someone had painted them LOL!!!
there is a Pakistani dish, my friends mother used to make it , it was a mix of 5 lentils alone!
Very nice i must add......pulses are a big thing in Indian Cooking esp the Southern regions where a lot are vegetarians.
Salaam... this looks really delicious. Insha'allah I plan to try this recipe... need to find out which one is the moong dhal though and if I have some lurking in the cupboards (hubby has a tendency to buy different lentils and beans for no apparent reason!). Seems like a different type of pakora really.
Can the moong dal be substituted with something else? I don't have the beans in the house but I have other kinds.
Aslamu alakum eyes serene
