A taste of Italy
Having recently dinned at a this lovely eatery i decided to give the food a try myself for the family. Seeing i enjoyed the meal so much i thought to reproduce it at home.
The starter Wild mushrooms, grilled topped with Parmesan cheese and spinach cooking with garlic, served with rocket salad and cherry tomatoes.
here is what i did:
Wash the mushrooms and grill them.
I did both sides
Top with some grated Parmesan and further grill.
In the mean time with a little olive oil in a pan crusg some garlic and add the spinach i flavoured it with balsamic vinegar and salt.
wash the salad leaves
and serve
For the main course i boiled the linguine to the instructions on the packet.
Gently toast the pine nuts ,
I added some peas to the pasta but really fine beans is what i wanted but didn't have , i added pesto (BASIL) and it came together like this served with Parmesan grated on top.
Now eaten al fresco is even better perfect for these hot summer eveings, yes even in London.
Here are the ones we had at the restaurant Al Fresco of course!

How fun, Did you capture the taste of the restaurant one? I always think foor tastes better cooked at home, but then again I eat out 3 meals a day while we are working.
So what did the family think? I'm sure I would have loved it. I looooooove pasta.
Aslamu alakum /hello

Well i tend to cook more complicated meals due to our pallet so pasta is something i don't cook too often and well its always nice to rty something new.

We hardly ever eat out, it is a very rare occasion when we do. So for me the food at the resturant was nicer , why? as i didn't cook it, i don't like my own cooking sadly, i don't enjoy it or taste the flavours. i liked it better at the resturant simply beacause someone else cooked it and served it to me! i do agree though , there is nothing like home made food!

And yours looks so deli, mash'Allah.
Pesto is great mix of pine nuts, basil and olive oil...mmmhh I used to make it fresh! But now I cannot find the vegetarian parmesan cheese and the ones in sale contain animal rennet and whey. Hamdulillah.
Great to see you enjoy some taste of Italy!
