Walnut Biscuits

6 1/2 oz of softened butter
1/2 cup of sugar
2 table spoons of Orange blossom water
2 cups of plain flour
Walnut filling

1/2 cup of walnuts chopped
1/4 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
Set oven to gas mark 3 , brush a flat tray with butter. Beat sugar and butter until light and creamy. add orange water and flour, combined well. Press with your hands until the mixture comes together and them roll into small golf balls, press centres down with thumb and put into the pressed area some walnut filling and bake for 15-20mins, allow to cool before removing from tray.

Assalam-alaikam Sister,
Oooooh, they look delicious. My mum's gujerati neighbours used to make something that looked very similar with almond's and cherry. You're pictures have bought back memories. I'd love the recipe as I've never tried biscuits before.

thanks umm salhiah , my dh actually liked these said they tasted similar to an Algerian biscuit called 'magribia' but as mine was thin they better, so i was happy as its not often dh comments on my cooking, although i had got used to the 'silent approval' so when he speaks out he has liked alhamduillah, i have updated the recipe sister, do let me know how you get on inshaAllah.
